It came on me last week...the almost uncontrollable urge to buy a Minelab Explorer II...ha...you guys have some awesome posts. Now I know there's more to it than just detector, but all of a sudden it seems like it would be great fun to play around with an Explorer...changing settings...not being in such a hurry to swing through an area...but to just slow down, relax, and have fun...anyway, would like to hear back from you die-hard Explorer users...thanks for the read, Ray in Waco, TX.

I've been detecting off and on for about 15 yrs now and bought my Explorer back in March 2003 and the only time I put it down is when the ground is too frozen to dig in.
If you start paying attention to the posts on the forums and see 2-3 or more older denomination coins...say seated, barber, flying eagle cents, large cents, etc. The poster is probably running an explorer . Unless the White's, Garrett, Fisher guys keep to themselves, I'm not sure but take notice next time you read the posts or look at the pics...there is probably an XS coil or shaft poking out of the pics.
HH and thanks a bunch for the magazine
