Never forget your roots...

Since I started out with an ACE 250, I've logged nearly 400 hours on it. I also have a Surf PI that I have 83 hours on and most recently a Minelab Sovereign Elite with nearly 50 hours on it. As a result, my first love - the ACE 250 - has kinda been sitting collecting dust these last couple months. So, it's been so rainy here that I haven't gotten out much this past week, certainly not my usual 3 to 6 hours a day. My wife had to work last night and instead of taking her so I could have the car to go to the beach, she took the car and I stayed home. I figured I have done so well coinshooting the campsites here in the RV park we live in that I would just stay near home and take that wonderful little ACE 250 back out for a couple hours.

After 2 hours in the park hitting the empty parking spaces (graveled) I had 30 pennies, 3 dimes, a quarter, a pulltab and some sort of electrical connector. I had forgotten how light and comfortable that ACE is to swing! And it was pounding out those coins, at sensitivity 4 bars (I didn't want to dig deep targets, just ones barely beneath the surface) in coin mode with the DD coil on.

So never forget your roots! If you still have your first MD, take it out for a spin once in a while, don't Treasure Hunt with it, just find what you find while reconnecting with an old friend.

I LOVE THAT ACE 250!!!

Since I am on my fifth Ace 250 (yes..my 5th one) I have to agree it is a surprisingly nice unit to hunt with.
I still get a bit chaffed when it is classified with lower quality detectors. The price and ease of use makes it a "entry-level" detector but its' abilities should put it up there with much higher priced units.
