NEL Thunder

Anybody tried the new NEL Thunder coil ? It seems like an interesting design if one wants depth in less trashy sites. I found one review on youtube for teh Garrett AT Pro but that's about it.

Ive never used a thunder coil . I had a at pro when I started getting serious so I started buying extra nel coils for it. I will say this and this for me and others might think different. AT Pro 525.00,extra 5x8 125.00,15 inch nel coil 230.00,12x13 inch nel tornado coil 190.00. so that would be a grand total of say around 1070 bucks . Did the nel coils perform a little better than the stock yes I think they did. Heres some food for thought instead of pumping that much money into a mid range detector just save your money and upgrade the detector? I know thats not the question you asked but thats my experience with nels coils,my higher end detector with the 9 inch coil will outperform on depth the at pro with a 15 inch nel attack coil that weighs 2 pounds btw the bigger nel coils are heavy. Others will disagree and thats ok to each their own but in my experience it was better to upgrade the detector instead of the coils. If money is a real issue which I suppose it is for most of us a LITTLE performance boost can be had from a nel but if you buy one of the coils I mentioned above buy a detector sling too. Just my 2 cents hope it helps.
