nel coils on excal..what's your experience

My original10in tornado coil on my excal is shot due to dry rotted wire insulations.... im considering replacing it with a nel coil... how well do they perform in comparison to original bbs 10in coil? Do they ignore iron as well? Is depth comparable? I was very happy with the original 10in coil but they seem to be as rare as hens teeth... would really like to replace with something that performs as well as the original without any extra weight.... happy holidays all....

Why not just swap out the coil cable like others have done?
i suppose thats possible and i could still do that but im not sure how insure water tight integrity on the coil end.... already bought replacement coil , will test it out on sovereign gt 1st...

I recommend you stay away of the NEL coils on the excal, too many have failed and are unusable in salt water\ conditions
i guess i will find out as ive purchased the nel thunder coil.. im gonna test it on my sovereign gt for awhile 1st...i hooked up my 10inch tornado coil to the excal which had been on my sovereign ...thanks for responses. ..
