Needing a bit of cheering up & last few hunt pics

So yesterday I went out hunting with a detecting friend here in Surrey, BC. We hit an area I hadn't hunted yet; me with my AT-Pro and he had his E-Trac.

At the end of the 4hr hunt, I had no silvers. He had 2 silver rings and 3 silver dimes, including a 1919 George V that he found not 5 feet from where I found the "J" nickle the other week.

I can't complain, he got his coil over the silver and I missed it.

But Man....I'm feeling a mite depressed. Plus it's raining and cold, till Friday it looks like.

I know the E-Trac is a good machine, for $1500+ dollars it better be. And I still have faith in my AT-Pro, I just need some silver to cheer me up!

Here's the pics of the last few hunt totals.

It's usually the first coil over the target who wins! My buddy swamped me with old coins today. It doesn't matter. It's a hobby, and hobbies were meant to be enjoyed.

I know I will sleep good tonite! :goodnight:

Thanks John.

Cheer up Canuck. It's a known Fact The Etrac is hot on silver. That woulda been a great place to compare signals with your friend:thumbup:

I did a bit, but he didn't call me over on the big finds. I think the AT-Pro is pretty hot on silver myself, but somehow I missed that 1919 dime. I went over that same spot three times, but I guess I somehow just missed it.

Makes me worry that I'm missing fishscales too.

Maybe old Herb will cheer you up some.........AT Pro is HOT on silver.........so master that one before you sit there with
E-trac on your Mind.............

You did ok in those hunts.:clapping:
At lease you can still hunt in the rain with the AT PRO
Here the ground is frozen down to 12 inches with a blanket of white
and no prospect of digging till March:thumbdown:

Thanks man! Good music and good metal detecting friends. What more could a cat want?

Well......my 5x8 coil to come in at my local detector store so I can redo all the iron infested ground with that hot little thang!!

Man I feel for you...I do. It was 9C and raining today after work. Owning a AT-Pro means, who cares....I went hunting. Posting finds after I get back from "The Keg" steakhouse. Got a 50$ gift certificate for Christmas.

Nothing wrong with those finds...
Just keep after it.. I would be curious to see how the AT signals stacked up with your buddy's
E-Trac??
From what I've read The AT Pro is right up there with the best of them..
That's why I have one along with the Garrett Pinpointer hitting my doorstep on Tuesday..
Thanks to everyone on here for all the great input..:)))

Cheer up...at least your still hunting...We are getting snowed on and ground like concrete...

HH,

Be of good cheer, GeorgiaCanuck!!!! That E-Trac is a wonder, but then so are our AT Pro's. Luck has a great deal to do with our hobby, you'll agree. Coincidentally, I took my grandson detecting over Thanksgiving and he found one of those Washington tax tokens down here in SW Washington.

Canuck - We've all had plenty of those days. Some days you put your coil over the good stuff, and some days your hunting buddy does. I've been detecting for a long time (over 40 years) and try to enjoy each and every hour out in the fresh air, regardless of finds. Be glad that you are healthy enough to do it, the good find will come.

I think the the GoergiaCanuck did not burn rubber this time out and his J Nickle is haunting him:rofl:

GeorgiaCanuck man I have both machines.. its not fair to compare one to the other... but what I see its 70% where you are at, and 30% getting over the target.. If silver coins where numerous it wouldn't be any fun...ok maybe it would, but hopefully you get what Im saying.. I have only had the AT for a couple of weeks and have found some really awesome old coins for my area... Would the Trac have found them..maybe, probably, who knows, but that day I had the right machine in my hands at the time, thats what mattered..
Don't get down We ALL have droughts.. It only takes one to start it back!!! Good Luck!

Thanks all!!
