Jeff though you have never met a lot of use you know we are here for you in spirit and in prayer. You don't have to 'see' us to believe in us doing what we say we will do. You have faith in us. We don't 'see' God either but we know because we are saved and Jesus has put us into the righteousnes of God that God hears our prayers. We know that He has told us if any have needs "ask and it shall be given", "whatsoever you ask in my name, I will do it for you" and God promised His "word would not return to Him void" - He will see His word do what it is to do.
I know these are troubling times Jeff. When times get tough it is hard at best to stay the course and be strong but 2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds
God is strong and we are weak. At times we have a pain we reach for a pill - which is ok for the physical world but there are times when we need to reach further into God's Word - our medication for our spirit.
Not trying to 'get on you' Brother. Just trying to give you more rope to hang onto and to help strengthen your spirit and your faith. God would not have you suffer unless maybe there is something I don't know about. At those times though it is easier to look at the problem we forget to look towards the answer and we know answers are in His Word and we know God loves us - even if we cannot see him.
Now it may appear that 'that is easy for him (me) to say' since Pete doesn't have this problem but I too would probably need prayer and as you say 'a kick in the pants' (as this is) to get my mind off the problem and back on our God.
I will continue to pray for you whenever you ask Brother. When I pray I expect God's Word to not to return to Him void and that whatever is asked in Jesus name that He will do.
My prayer for you Jeff "Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of our Lord Jesus and ask for you to put forth your healing hands and heal that which is making Jeff ill (both physically and spiritually). I know Jeff is worried and needs your comfort and his wife needs comforting too during these times when we feel the problem is bigger than us. Let us not forget, and remind us Father, that it is you who are bigger than anything in this world. You created the world and all that is good in it. Nothing is impossible for you Father so let your glory be shown through Jeff's healing. In Jesus name we aks these things and give you praise. Amen"
Remember God loves you Jeff. (BTW the question about Vioxx - its side affects sometimes causes heart problems - I have been there.)
