Need to know more about PF mode ?

The manual does not tell in any detail why the ploughed field mode is an advantage on uneven ground.

I would like to know how it works, the same also with the BC mode.
Just like to know the inner reasons of why these modes do what they do :drinking:

Anyone know please ?

Bob.

The PF mode, I am guessing, desensitizes the detector somewhat to make up for the difference in soil vs. airspace you encounter in passing the coil over plowed soil. In sweeping a plowed field the changes in soil matrix are as if you were raising and lowering the coil when sweeping a flat area like a lawn.

The Bc mode causes the unit to give wider responses to targets like steep bottle caps. Makes it easier to avoid digging them but only because the TID does not "lock on" as it does for a coin. You still get a signal. Unless I am encountering bottle caps I stay out of this one as it tends to throw more falses (at least in my spots and experience).

Probably exactly how these effects are accomplished is something of a proprietary secret.

That explanation sounds right, I've been playing with all the settings & modes in my backyard, filled up a plastic bucket with my mineralised dirt then placed it on a plastic chair, this then became a portable test pit.
Noticed that when I turned the sensitivity right down the F75 doesn't like it, wonder why ?

Bob.
