Need to confirm something about checking the software version on the Omega?

I believe when you do it by pushing in on the pinpoint button and turning it on, the number that appears in the middle of the screen is the version, correct?
when I do that I get "04" an the rest of the screen is blank for a few seconds before anything displays. So, mine is version 4 correct?

Thanks

Mark

Yes, that is correct Mark.---Yours is a version 4.----------Del

Mine was made in 0314 and shows as a version 05. I know it has less emi issues then did my other older Omega and on a fresh water sand beach was a depth demon with a NEL Hunter coil. I need to get some real turf time in on this one to see just what it will do. HH jim tn

I just got a new Omega a couple of weeks ago and mine is the 04 version. I'm not sure if that was the very first version or not. I know the price on mine was ok and the machine works really well. I also have a Gamma that I liked and that is what prompt me to by the Omega. Any way the wt. and performance of these detectors are a life saver for me. HH

new ones, and new g2's, should have a single headphone adapter with rubber plug.

I had heard that, too. If that is the case, then the change was made after 0314, as mine has both head phone plugs and the 1/4" one is still plastic. HH jim tn
