Need suggestions on a detector...

that is lightweight (3lbs or less), has a visual readout of some kind, nothing fancy, + or minus VDI numbers would be nice or just some bar graph, or needle meter, two different tones would be nice for iron and non-iron. Doesn't even need discrimination per se. And, can get about 6-7" in bad ground. I need it for my wife and she likes some kind of visual like what's on the MXT, but she likes the lightness of the Tesoro Cibola. I've been told that the ACE 250 doesn't fair too well in our slightly bad Alabama dirt. Any suggestions?

Try a Xterra 30- Xlt- DFX- or Cortes.... They have visual though not like the MXT a little different some just numbers some both icon and numbers.
If she likes the MXT check out the M6 Its almost same but only a coin hunter..get her the small coil..........

Canewrap:
I have a Ace 250 and have used it for several years. It is a good unit and I will keep it as a backup, however, I just bought an DFX and have been loving it. It is like comparing apples and oranges when comparing the 250 and the DFX. If you want to shoot coins and jewelery the 250 will do it but the DFX does it so much better. The 250 sells for 249.00 while the DFX sells for over 1,000.00. Don't sell the 250 short. It will outperform other makes of the same price.
