Need some quick help from the home construction experts....

I'm planning in putting up some shelves. I have drywall and the studs are galvanized metal.

My pinpointer indicates the studs are about 23" center to center. Does that seem right? It's a concrete condo building.

Thanks for your help!

anywhere from about 22 to 24 inches. If the studs are galvanized, a long sheet metal screw should be fine with out anchors. Just be cautious about the weight on the shelves. Your local Home Depot or Lowes may have some sort of new fangled anchoring system out that I'm not aware of. check with them for sure.

Yep, galv studs are "supposed to be 24" on center. Visit your local hardware store for the right fasteners. Lots of stuff available for securing to metal studs or drywall that will support up to 60#'s per fastener.
