Recently traded my equinox for a Impact, and it’ll be here soon.I had a racer 2 and really liked it,so I’m hoping the impact is just as good or better..I’m a coin hunter, and the impact has adjustable tones and tone break so it should be good.Anyone have a custom coin program? I’ve looked online and can’t find much on program.
I’m not a tweaker,so it will mostly stay in whatever program works best...I’m in Pennsylvania so I’m guessing my soil is somewhat mineralized, how much I don’t know. But any settings for coins would be appreciated,,thanks..Oh,it has 3 coils also,,stock,4x7 I think it is,and a 5.5x10..I’ll likely just run the stock coil, that’s what I liked the best on the racer 2..

,I just found some settings here,I guess I didn’t look hard enough.,,but if anyone has any really good custom settings I’d still be interested in trying them ..thanks

Hello Bigtom, I got my Impact late February and I can say it is a very good coin machine. I am like you, don't have any programs but I did learn a few things off of you Tube videos. Not the ones that say look what I found but the ones that say this is how I run my machine kinda stuff.

There are 12 pre set programs but you can change stuff. I like VLX2 - seems quiet and had good VDI at depth. I lower the iron sound to F2 most of the time. I don't use discrimination unless the sounds drive me nuts.

It took me awhile to understand that you need to push the trigger forward and hold it - then the unit ground balances. I was just moving it forward and it wouldn't complete the process. This is covered in the manual but there is one spot that says just push the trigger forward. So it confused me a bit.

Someone said in order to learn the Impact you should detect each program for about six hours. I thought that was excessive amount of testing - how has that kind of time.

I hope other will add some good tips for you and me as well.

Best of luck this year,

Tony in NJ

PS: There is a beach hunt in OC, NJ May 19th and 20th and there is a kids hunt on Saturday for five bucks each child. Details are on the ECRDA.org web site or FB page.

Thanks for the info Tony.I was actually born in new Jersey,, Plainfield..Grew up in Piscataway, and most of my family is still in North Jersey..sounds good, and thanks again for the tips

IMPACT utilizes 2 different ID scales according to the search modes. In DI2, DI3, DI4, DI99 and COG modes, the ferrous range is 00-15 at factory defaults.
(Just like the Makro Racer 2 .. Nokta Relic & Gold +)

In GEN, GEN (D), STA, STA (D), DEEP, VLX1 and VLX2 modes, the ferrous range is 00-40.
(Just like the Red Racer .. Nokta CoRe .. Groups the zinc copper and dimes in the 80's VDI)

In addition, when the operating frequency is changed, the Target ID will change as well. This represents the ''Standard'' ID scaling of the device. IMPORTANT! At start up, IMPACT will utilize the ''Normalized'' ID scale and not the Standard ID scale. In other words, the IDs will not change upon frequency change and the device will generate the 14kHz IDs in each frequency.
