The one on the right I thought for sure was a button for sure but when I got it clean I have no idea.

The one on the left I have no clue. I found it at site where some heavy equipment was working. A front end loader had scooped out an area about 6 ft wide and 10 ft long and 3 ft deep. This was found in that hole about 3 in deep in hard dirt. So, I can only assume this was over 3 feet deep. ?????????

Any help is appreciated.
