Need some honest opinions

So I have been a quattro owner for the past 2 years, and love the machine dont get me wrong. But I have been looking at an Explorer XS and am thinking about moving on up! The XS is quite a few years older then the Quattro, but performance wise is it a better machine? is there much difference between a SE and an XS. Any help would be appreciated. The quattro just doesnt quite cut it for me around heavy trash and has super slow sweep speed.
Once again thanks for your opinion.

I know nothing about the Quattro except that it is probably an Explorer with less bells and whistles. Sort of like The X-Terra series. XT 70 is top of line and then the 50 and lastly the 30.
As for the XS, If that's what you can afford right now, I'd get it. And move up from there. You may find that the XS is just as noisy in the trash and you WILL find that the XS is slow also. Nature of the beast.
I'm sure there are folks here that can give you a little more in-depth comparison.

I own an XS, an Explorer II, and last wed. (5/7/0:geek: I just received my SE in the mail. I'm having a hard time with the transition however. When you turn on the SE it's on NOW. It's also a faster machine but the sounds are different from the Explorer II. If you can get an XS fairly cheap I would take it. I find myself not really wanting to use anything else in that money bracket.

I had a Quattro and now have an Explorer XS. The Quattro is a good detector. I would say depth is about equal on both machines, but the XS has a quicker response time and I like it better. If you decide on one try to get one of the later versions or an Explorer 2. It takes time with either one. I've seen days I wanted to wrap it around a tree, but now I would not part with it. The only problem I've had is the lower shaft fits too tight. This can be fixed with the newer carbon fiber shaft.
