Yesterday I dug up a hoe that has had both outsides (from the eye) cut off about 2 inches on each side.
I can read (stamped into the metal) on one side CASTST... and under that WARRAN... I think it says caststeel and then warranted. Above that appears to be the left wing of an eagle with his wings spread. The intials P.F. have been stamped into the metal close to the CASTST... A friend has a large wood gouge that has the same letters on it but his is readable and it says Wilcox and company, caststeel warranted. I can't find anything out about the company. I am interested in the years of production being as both of these peices were found in CW camps. Mine has been alterd into a grubbing hoe, hence the reason I cant read what was intially there. Can anyone help? Thanks...d2
