I know some guys here are good with computers and I don't know where else to go. When I go on ebay and click on different parts for example site map, number of bids, discussion boards. All I get is a blank screen with done in the lower left corner. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate that very much, Rich I do use a sovereign

What operating system are you using (which version of windows)? What web browser are you using (firefox, explorer)?

Is this the first time this has happened, if it just started..and you remember when it worked correctly..just do a restore to a point to when it worked. Pm if you want to know how...............joe

Bigcatdaddy, Thank you for the help. I downloaded google chrome and everything is working. And thank you all for the help. I can't believe it works and I can't believe microsoft can be such crap. Rich

Mozila firefox is good too, far better than IE in any version, it also has a cool ebay plugin to watch your items in ebay at a glance, gives you a warning message at 20minutes on watched item, handy if your busy doing other things at the time

Firefox also has a video downloader plugin, an internet explorer emulator, etc.....

erikk,
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!........If these guys get wind of how easy things are on a Mac , market share will go up, and all the hackers will start sending us viruses and popups, and all the other Spam that PC users get !!..... Jim

Using Chrome or Firefox is fine but you should probably also try to find out what is wrong with ie8 and fix it. It is probably some setting that is off or a problem with an add on like Java. Couyld it be your popup blocker settings changed somehow.

Just for security sake if I were you I would DL and run Malwarebytes anti-malware program, it is free and very good. There are also free programs called AdAware and Spybot S&D. There is one called Hijackthis that will remove anything from your registry if there is something on there that Malwarebytes can't handle.

You can learn a LOT about running and fixing your computer here: http://www.whatthetech.com/

Also, I don't use the windows popup blocker. I use a free one from Panicware called popup blocker free edition, it works really well. You can turn it off by holding the control key while clicking a link if you want a window to popup but it will block most. It adds a little hand to the toolbar that you can double click to turn the blocker on/off. I like Norton WAY better than Mcafee virus software and it's firewall is good.

In any case you should DL and run Malwarebytes anti-malware.

Another thought, clicking the safety tab at the top and then Delete Browsing History, especially cookies, may fix it. You can alsohit control, alt, delete all at once and taskmanager will pop up, you can look at the processes tab to see what all is there. IF there is some .exe file that you aren't sure of go here to see what it is, what it does, and if you should delete it or keep it.. http://www.processlibrary.com/
Sometimes things get on your computer that you don't want on there. They aren't hard to get rid of if you know how.
