I have a at pro and I had a mxt pro,but my question is for you is what type of detector would be good for hunting coins in parks, around old home steds,
in the woods,in playgrouds, baseball areas, things like this. Thanks for all of your help guys.P.S would a mxt pro be good for this kind of hunting the only
reason I am asking is I sold my mxt pro and I have these type of coils 5.3,6x8 sef,4/5x8 excelerator,9.5 coil that comes with the det.,hotshot, and the
bigfoot coil.

MXT pro would be good. T2 would be good, and most likely the At pro would be good too...

So would an Etrac and or SE pro .............

Please consider you have the coils for the MXT Pro ............ Wow,.that is a big head start when making a decision.

If you have the coils already, I would stick with the MXT Pro, a very serious detector that is hard to beat without spending an extra thousand bucks.

I do all that type of hunting with both an AT-Pro and/or an Etrac depending on the sites. Nothing wrong at all with the AT-Pro.

Nothing wrong with any of the mentioned detectors, the key to his question is he already has six coils that works on the White's E series. On the sports fields the Bigfoot coil is a clad vacuum and no other detector mentioned has anything like that. It would be worth buying an E series just to use the Bigfoot.

Thanks everyone for taking time to give me some good feedback, but I just sold my mxt pro and I am sorry for doing that
and I will in the near future buy me another mxt pro.If you know of someone who has a nice one with any warrenty left
on please let me know thanks again..

Well, you could sell the coils. Prices of them have gone up rather dramatically in last few years. Use *Bay as a guide to what they are selling for. I was a White's guy for 20+ years. Then you may wish to consider a Teknetics Omega. Its a coin killer for the price. It was made specifically for coinshooting. The T2 was not. Nor do I feel the AT Pro either. I have the greastest respect for Elton & others here who have replied. I owned the T2, but find the Omega better suited for coins. Better stability in the ID's over all the units mentioned so far. Except the E-Trac. If you get the optional 11 DD coil, it will pretty much match the T2 on depth and ultra fast target separation. I think it beats the AT Pro & MXT hands down for coin shooting. Its 5" DD coil is unsupassed for size/depth/separation that the other models mentioned, have in their small coil genre. Same applies to the 11" DD. Just my two cents. You can actually special order the Omega to have the 11" DD coil as stock instead of the 10" concentric if thats what you want. Now if you want to pony up the money, the E-Trac is in a class all by itself. I don't have to explain that one. Do research on "all" the models mentioned. As Larry said, they are all good machines. It what you want the unit to do/have.
Good Luck

Similar questions regarding "the best detector" etc, are asked here a lot. Which is the overall purpose for being here in the first place. One comment that was made relates to the fact that soil conditions vary from state to state or even closer. So everyone's experience will to some extent be at least slightly different unless 2 or more are hunting the same ground. One detector kicks booty in one place and another in another. We just have to do some research and then make a choice on which machine we're willing to try.

I made a statement some time back about fishing lures being looked at the same way. For years somebody uses one and then another is hyped up as being the ultimate answer for fish catching. Many of the pros will tell you that if a person has total confidence in a particular lure, they will work that lure harder then others and for the most part have good success. In some respects, that outlook can also be applied to detectors. And one can always sell what does not work as they expected.
