Hey All You Knowledgable Camera Guys: Can you give me your personal recommendations on a VERY GOOD, DEPENDABLE, SIMPLE to Operate, GREAT PICTURE CLARITY, Digital Camera for around $200 or less? Looking into buying one that I can take SOME NICE PICTURES of FINDS, NICE SCENERY, and be able TO POST THEM EASILY!! I'm not very knowledgable about operating a digital camera! I have owned several digital cameras and the BEST one I have owned so far in that price range has been the Pentax Optio series. They now have the waterproof model which I will purchase soon. This camera is so EASY to operate, all of the setting are in icon format. It doesn't get any easier that that. The picture quality blows my more expensive cameras away and it is pocket size. Awesome camera!

First thing, I want to THANK YOU all VERY MUCH for your input!! After researching many cameras, and espiecially the PENTAX W-30, which I CANNOT FIND at several of the Major Electronics Stores, and even my local Ritz Camera Shop. I decided to make a purchase at BEST BUYS! I had never been inside a BEST BUYS Store before, and was I IMPRESSED!! The sales staff THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED their products, and the only waterproof camera they carried was the
OLYMPUS Waterproof Model, which some of the responders had Problems With!! BEST BUYS has a FANTASTIC ADDITIONAL WARRANTY that costs $20.00 for a (2) yr. period. See follow-up Post!

(2) yr. Performance Service Plan covers Either TOTAL REPLACEMENT or REPAIRS at any Best Buys Store location throughout the U.S., not the Camera Manufacturer Warranty, so you don't have to ship the camera off to the manufacturer!! They cover ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS to Camera except LOST or THEFT!!
Drop in on the road, and a car runs over it, they repair or replace it No PROBLEM!! Drop it in saltwater or in a mudpool, they FIX IT or REPLACE IT at NO CHARGE!!
The warranty brocure Explains It!! My decision is to buy a SONY CYBERSHOT W-80 or W-55, one or the other. They both sell for Under $200, and are Very HIGHLY Rated by CONSUMERS REPORTS. THANKS AGAIN, Les Robinson

Last night, I purchased the black colored model SONY CYBERSHOT W-80 for the Circuit City Sale Price of $189.99!! I had to order the black model from BEST BUYS, and I got it at the CIRCUIT CITY Sale Price of $189.99, instead of the BEST BUYS Sale Price of $199.99. That way, I am able to purchase the BEST BUYS outstanding PERFORMANCE SERVICE WARRANTY, and I have uptil Jan. 31, 2008 to return it as long as I keep it Looking New, and protect the box/paperwork. I really would have liked to handle and compare the PENTAX WATERPROOF W-30 Model, but No Businesses in my small state seem to have them. I had called my local COSTCO, but they didn't carry it.
