Need some advice on Bounty HunterTracker IV

The Tracker IV amazes me at the performance, and the depth at which it sends a signal. But I'm wondering if it's me, or if I should send the machine back to the factory to be adjusted. When adjusting the sensitivity, and the discrimination, it doesn't seem to make much difference. I picked up a small scrap of aluminum siding only about 1/2" long, with high sensitivity and low discrimination. But after decreasing the sensitivity, and turning up the discrimination level, it didn't seem to make much difference at all. Anyone have the same problem?

Have a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV myself and am very impressed with it as well. But, as you said, it seems that the discrimination level does not do much. It just must be a quirk of the detector. I do notice a difference in the tone slightly when I turn up the discrimination. The tone seems to be much more definite with a coin and such, and a little broken with junk when I turn it up. I hope this helps a little. So either that is just the way these great little detectors are, or we both have a broken one...lol. Take care and happy hunting.

I have a Tracker IV also but I run in all metal mode all of the time. I will try playing with the disc. tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Maybe it just has the same size/reading as a coin would. I've had that happen to me lots of times now, good repeatable signals that stay the same even after you dig it. I guess trash is unavoidable! :pulltab::detecting::pulltab::pulltab::wiggle:
