OK-here's where I am, have Garrett Scorpions,, they have a upper rod and lower rod, when breoken down for traveling on airline the shortest I can get broken down into is around 34-35 inches, I need to come up with some way to shorten up to around the size of tesoros or along that line, maybe a 3 rod setup, or someway to make these break apart with couplers, pins or whatever, am planning on some air travel this winter and just do not like checking in my detector, would like to keep it with me in a carry on=ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED=Thanks, here's a pic of the detector:garrett:

The cheapest way would be to cut the upper shaft and fit a small sleeve in one of the cut ends. Pop rivet and epoxy it. Use a bolt and wing nut on the other side.

Put the control and coil onto a Whites space saver shaft. They sell them on their website for ~ $45 shipped. Look under products, accessories, replacement parts.

Yard sale of Good Will store. Get a telescopic cane or walker make of aluminum. Most have adjustable shafts with spring clips. You can use these to make rods, shafts and adapters for your rod.

Bugar,I would go with a Fisher 3 pc rod asm.Very easy to mount your box on one of these.Good Luck Ron
