I can get the Explorer II to Work at the beach, no success in high mineral(heavy clay) I have several detectors, nautilus, mxt, tehon but just cannot get performance except near the cost from the EXII. Can any of you diehards tell me what I am doing wrong.

There is no reason why your Explorer should not work at the beach. Explorers LOVE salt water!
