Need Salt Water info good&bad on Tiger Shark ....Thanks

iv owned 3 TS and they are great in fresh water but loose depth in salt water.about 10" on a dime in fresh water and about 6/8" in salt water.they are great on small BB size Gold and will find a chain where my Excal wont.but for over all salt beach hunting iv not seen anything as good as the Excal /Sovereign or CZ20/21. PI's are good too if you dont mind digging a lot of nails/bobbi pins.

Ditto to all that has been said above...plus mine goes off on a 'hot rock' that would sound like falsing unless you have moved a rock and the signal followed the rock. Might not experience that unless you dive as you wouldn't see it wading. Maybe the unit is doing the same with the varying mineralization in the sand. They do find small. Found a .177 pellet with mine. Wish I could find more .925 silver or 14K gold. Jim

to set the sensitivity on a TS you must open the battery compartment and adjust a pod inside.i would not do this if it is factory set! they set it for max performance at the factory and its easy to get it out of whack if you move it the wrong way...if you must move it ,mark with a pin where it is set now so you can put it back if you mess it up.the TS is a single freq detector.they just dont work as well as multi freq detectors on salt beach's..they do pretty good in fresh water but loose a little in salt.i even must lower the sensitivity on my Excal's and GT's as i hit wet sand, but they have a external knob to adjust this. the TS has a salt mode but i see little or no help from that on my beach's.they will false as sand is washed over the coil.i love the TS thin coil better than any on the market as it will slice easy through the water.but iv found about 8"/10" max on a dime with the TS.my Excal and GT will hit a dime at 15"overall the TS is a good detector, built like a tank and a warranty 2nd to none.it would be my 3rd choice of water units after the Excal and CZ21.good luck.
