Need pic advice

New member
I need some help here please, I have tried to upload a pic from my digital camera and I get the message that I can only download a pic with 420 kb, well I can understand that but how can I tell my camera? I would like to send some pics of finds.

First download the photos to a folder/directory on your computer. Then use a piece of software to re-size/re-sample the photo. Save the photos as Jpeg(jpg) or png. A couple free popular ones are Irfanview & Fastone. Your camera also probably came with it's own photo editor on a CD.

have you tried GIMP? GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a free software download that is unbelievable. I've been using it for several months and there are dozens of things I haven't even tried yet. In addition to being able resize photos, add colors / contrast etc., I've made some overlay transparencies for mapping new sites. I am by no means any more than a novice with the software. So don't ask me a bunch of questions. The nice thing about GIMP is that there are lots of YouTube video clips showing how to do many of the functions. Take a look at it by googling GIMP.

Thanks a lot guys your help is valuable, I returned a Kodak because I could not get the software to work and got a Nikon instead, I hope its software is better.

Boris...Try this..Go to all programs and click on accessories. When it open click on paint and a screen will come up. Click on open and click on the pic you want to post. Click on Image and a smaller screen will come up. You will see horizontal and vertical. 100% will be beside each word. Change the 100% to 50% and click OK..Then click save and save to folder or desktop. When you go to upload a pic use the one that you have sized. HHTomB
