I found a barely used golden umax I can get for $300. It is the old tones. When I contacted tesoro to confirm I could get new tones put on they said they do not do that anymore as it isn't a current model. My other option is a new one for $449. Are the new tones worth $150?

They quit manufacturing both the regular tone and high tone models. I've had both and like the high tone better.

For that extra money you also get the lifetime warranty on the new machine, tones aside. The barely used one though, sorry but no warranty guaranteed except to the original owner. Food for thought.

good point, but i would also consider that for the extra 150$ saved, you could send in the used one three times to have it serviced. how many folks have had to send in their Tesoro three times? Just another bit of math to consider...

I did call tesoro and asked what happens if under a lifetime warranty they can not fix something because they do not make it anymore. They said they find a comparable machine. I guess aside from the warranty do the tones make that much difference?

I had the old tones one, and now have the new tones one....you can get used to either, and both are good machines.
