need new metal detector

mebla

New member
My metal detector is 20 years old I would like to upgrade to a new one would like to keep it under 300.00 I mostly use it looking for coins. Like to hear some opions on what works best for coins in that budget?n

Hi Melba,

I think tha consensus will be tha Ace 250.

It seems to be tha most successful line
goin now. There is a reason for that.

I am a analog guy. I don't get along with
displays. I just like to hunt with a single
tone.

But I have hunted along side tha 250, and
it seemed to be doin just as well as me.

We were relic huntin.

I suspect I might have an edge at jewelry
huntin, but that could be because I am a
gold nut. I get a better return on it, and it
is a thrill to find.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

For a metered machine under $300 there is only one choice. The Garrett Ace 250. For a non metered machine the Tesoro Silver uMax.

mebla, one of the best deals on mew units Kellyco has new ID Excel Fishers for 349.00 with extras. What detector do you have at this point?Your old detector may be worth more than you realize $$$$. Good used equipment sometimes sales fast and at a good price.Everyone here sales off equipment to upgrade. My suggestion get the best unit you can afford.Just curious what is your old detector. This would give everyone a better idea on their suggestions.Heck,LOL, if you have an old Troy X5 I would give you 300 bucks so you could buy your new Ace.

well i met a guy who has a 250 and hunted with him for a while, and i have the f2 by fisher. we both agreed the f2 was the better detector

You might consider the White's Classic 5ID at an online
discount dealer @ $299.95.
But I'd opt for the Fisher F2 @ $199 and it
has 4-tone ID as well as a numeric ID meter.
Plus it has extra available concentric coils of 4" & 10".

But I still think I've got a slight edge.

I gotta believe it.

Can not loose my positive atitude.

If I didn't believe it, I wouldn't find it.
