Need Information on Classic I.D.

Can anyone please tell me what kind of machine the Classic I.D. is? I am looking for a lower priced unit that will do a good job on rings and other jewlery at beaches. I am thinking about buying a Classic I.D. or a Priszm. Any info as to depth, etc. would be appreciated.

my friend has used his classic at the beach. He had trouble w/ false signals in the wet sand, also the classic id has no depth read out. Above the the wet-sand mark, its been my exp. that just about any m-d will work. I started w/ a bounty hunter, no trouble in dry sand.
If dry sand is ok ( and there are plenty of goodies there !!!) and you are limited w/ $$, I've heard good things about the Garrett 250--$212 plus shipping on e-bay. The prism-5 ( I bought one used ) is a good machine (w/ depth), But it is totally auto. There will be no tweaking of that m-d. Push button disc. from iron up the scale ( 5 times ) Smart notch for tabs,( may I have another...PLEASE !! ) smart-notch works ok. PS--Thats where alot of the goodies hide. Prism-5 retails new for around $ 500, but for that kind of cash I'd save up and step-up. On Whites web-page, they have videos, showing functions of different m-d's
WET-sand & SALT water is a different ball game. you'll need something w/ beach function or multi-frequencies. The main thing
is NOT to get in a hurry, shop around and read plenty of reviews. Find-mall is full of good ones. Check out the beach
forum. good luck

You can get a used Explorer or Sov or CZ for a decent price, I think either would work well on the beach.
Classic ID, IDX is more for land type hunting.

or try a used White's clasic III and a 5.3 coil. I have a prism II, clasic III, & DFX. The clasic III is still my favorite. Simple to use and if their is such a thing "deep enough".Probably around $150 plus $40-$80 for the 5.3 coil
