Need info on Whites M6

I have had several Whites M6 detectors but always just turned them on and took off .I never had a problem running them this way but a friend ask me the other day how I did a manual factory reset on it and I didn't know the answer since I never learned how to do it and never saw a need too .If anyone know how to do the manual factory reset would you post it here so I will not seem so dumb . Thanks ahead for your help .
Harold

I don't think you can do a manual reset on the M6. That's reserved for the VX3 and V3i detectors that are digital designed computers. The M6 & MXT's are a digital/Analog mix.

Theres nothing to reset on M6 This machine is the simplest to use and most accurate I ever used in 35 years of digging holes You can reset the MX5

Doubt is would reset anything a power down and up again wouldn't do, but you could do a hot swap on the battery. Have the M6 running, pop the battery door and let the battery bleed down. Then close the door. All the capacitors should reset in that time. Can't see where it would hurt to try.

Power up - remove batteries with power on - wait a couple minutes - replace batteries - power up.

This works for the MXT and M6

In over 3000 hours of use with several MXT's and M6's,
I have never had a need to perform this function.
