Can anyone tell me how a surf pro works on land(dry land in South Carolina) or Florida?
Thanks
Chris

If your referring to the White's PI Pro, then that's a specialized detector for cutting thought salt & black sand where the VLF detectors choke. You did not state your type of hunting ,but the PI Pro's do not have discrimanation and you will dig a hole a foot deep to find a ketchup wrapper . Normally PI's are only used in very low trash areas.

Good luck

Would not recommend for land hunting because it doesn't ground balance. Stick to the wet stuff or dry sand at the beach.

Hi,Yes it's the Whites surf pro_Other than digging everything,do they work in regular soils too.The reason I ask all the lakes are down 30-40 ft and I want to search some areas not avalable for over 30 years.I have A Tesoro Bandito ll also.
Thanks
Chris

I would stick to a VLF detector for land use, Also PI"S do not do well in fresh water lakes as they tend to be trashed with rusted cans and other trash.

A Whites beach hunter ID would be a better choice for what your describing.

The Beach Hunter ID will do well on land hunting Also.

Good Luck

I use the Whites Beach Hunter ID and it's a kicker. It works great on land with it's tone ID and three lead lights. when I beach hunt I use all metal. The tones are all the same in all metal. so I just watch the lead lights when I get a signal. If the red light comes on it's iron. anything that lights the green for coins or yellow for gold or pull tabs I dig. Tagged four Gold and three silver rings this week. Its water proof down to 30 feet. Which is ok with me, because I don't dive and once the water gets above my nose I can't breath anyway. chest mount works best for me.
