Hello everyone i was wondering if there were settings that could match the E-trac as far as silver sound on my Explorer XS i have been trying different settings but cant seem too get it.I know i may not but i thought i would put this out there and see what others may have as far as settings go.Thank You for your time

I have the ET and Explorer 11 , I have set both up so they sound the same or as close as I can get them .

Sensitivity = 22 to 28 Auto or manual

Threshold hum = 9

Volume = Max limit 10
Gain = 9

Tone = Threshold tone = 1
Variability = 9
Limits = 10

Sounds = Conduct

Options = Noise = 1 to 4
Response = Normal
Recovery = DEEP ON

That's what I use and it sounds like an ET or at least the way I have my ET.

Thank You Nuke em i will give those settings a try :thumbup:

Have noticed that the Explorer seems to be louder than the ET on deeper targets or at least I think so. Sounds louder on high conductive targets , it might be the reason people think the Explorer 11 is deeper but I am not so sure they are , maybe people don't set their ET up right .
When you use your machine and have set the program you are using , and I hope you are not using the pre set program's ? put the machine into digital read out and go slow , if you have only nails knocked out then most ferrous trash will come in very high tone and read high on the ferrous number . Any ferrous number below 18 investigate , if in iron mineralised soil or near iron that sort of number could be a coin in those conditions . It will be very noisy but that's the only way to find what others miss , use Sensitivity in auto then it will at least keep the machine stable to a point.

No wonder so many lose patience with the Explorer , its because they don't realise that the machine is capable of giving you an enormous amount of info on a target. Its the same with the ET and CTX though with the CTX you get the 2 target track which is the ability to see a ferrous and a non ferrous target . A good idea that we could do with in a new ET .

Never used an E-trac however experiment with the variability as it seems to change the silver sound depending on the setting of an XS....
