Need info on button

Anyone got any info on this button? "William Gray Durham". Friend found it today on a farm that dates back to the late 1890's.

Where was it found?
I have a feeling 'Durham' is not part of the name 'William Gray' but refers to Durham, England. I found a post asking for similar info, Copy and pasted below. If not connected its an odd coincidence that not only does the name and city fit but also the date 1890. Not only that but if someones name is on a button, why not a 'Sir', Usually someone of superior rank or status?..........

Does anyone have information about Sir William Gray and Co shipyard at West Hartlepool in 1890. My great grandfather John Burnett died whilst still an employee there and I am trying to locate more information eg family and address, as his death certificate has very little information. Also, does the name Matthew Tyreman (John's brother-in-law), connect with anyone - also of West Hartlepool in 1890?

Thank you.

Near Vancouver, British Columbia. It's a plain type button, probably off work shirt or pants. But old.
