Need Info on a Pocket Probe Mod. for the X-terra's

I seen a while back where someone had mounted a Uniprobe Pocket Probe on there X-Terra. Would like to see the pic again on how they done it .Thanks Joe

Drill out the adjusting hole that is second from the back to 1/4 inch, go all the way through the rod. Put a bolt through from the bottom. Lock the bolt in place with a jam nut, do not over tighten. Drill a 1/4 inch hole in the "clip on" part of the Uniprobe. You are now going to cut the bolt threads, leaving just enough thread for the thickness of the Uniprobe clip and a second thin nut, not a standard thickness type nut. Slide the uniprobe onto the bolt, start the second nut which will sandwich the Uniprobe clip between the two nuts. Tighten and your're done. I use one of those thin Craftsman ignition wrenches since it fits between the Uniprobe body and clip nicely to tighten the second 'Lock nut". I have had this on and off many times without problems since I move it to my XLT as well. A suggestion also is to tie wrap the probe wire to the rod since they seem to pull loose from where the fit into the connector often. I mounted a small pvc sleeve to the armcuff to slide the probe into, this seems to be the best place to be out of the way while hunting, and easily reached when needed. Also the support legs shown in the photo are a fold foward and extendable bipod made by BT Paintball. Check online for a "BT Paintball Bipod", do not ask me where to get one since they are available at paintball gun websites. It attaches to the bottom of the rod using the stock cuff bolt, no modifications and it will keep your unit from falling over or out of the mud.
