I just acquired that Bazooka Sniper myself .I fastened my mini Bazooka to the tail end of my 8 inch wide dredge sluice box.It is the BEST sluice for catching the fine gold. I had colors in Indiana I could not even see except other guys with better eyes were pointing them out to me.
I have no idea on pumps and pressure for the fluid bed but have been advised no more than 1.5 psi. I am using a Honda WX15 self priming trash pump on my 2 inch dredge.I have an ABS black plastic T on the pump output. One end of the T goes to my suction nozzle intake. The other end, I have a modified garden hose setup with a brass garden hose ball valve coming off it.I got the valve at Menards in the garden hose section. I am experimenting with running a washing machine hose to the mini Bazooka. A washing machine hose is like 1/2 the diameter of a regular garden hose and has 2 female? garden hose fittings on it.
On the Bazooka, I built a wooden bulkhead with a garden hose adapter in the middle, slots to fit the end of the Bazooka, above the fluid bed intake, and sealed it all up with white silicone.
I am told the fluid bed test is as follows. With the ball valve turned on and gravels flowing in the sluice box , you are sposed to check the fluid bed by poking your finger in with the sand and pebbles. If you can easily do this, all is good.If not, there is not enough water in the mix, so more pressure needed. At this point, it will be my 1st time with a setup like this. Guess I will find out if it works..or not....I did put a finer mesh over the grizzly as I want the bigger pebbles and rocks to fly out the end, and just have sands entering the grizzly, and hopefully, less plugging of the grizzly while dredging ?
I will try to take some pics this weekend while down at the river. Just hope I don't drop my camera in the river AGAIN !!! Water damage isn't covered by camera warranties I found out the hard way !!!
