Need Ideas how to use XLT lower rod on E Trac?

Hi folks,
I have an extra rod for my Whites XLT but need one for the Etrac with a 14inch Excellorator Coil. Prob is that the E uses square rods and the XLT uses round rods. There is a wait to get the lower rod right now so I was wondering if any of you know of a mod or some other way to put this together.

thanks for any suggestions,

Find out the inside diameter of the E-trac middle rod and then then find a square rod at a metal supply house/ace hardware? that will go inside the E-Trac middle tube... you will only need maybe a couple of inches then slide the round pole inside this piece use a couple of counter sunk screw to hold the square tubing in place over the outside of the round pole then insert into the E-Trac middle shaft ...

Might work ???

Never know till you try!

Good luck

Thanks for that suggestion Keith. I will give it a try.
does anyone know of any other machines that use square lower rods that might fit the Minelab?
thanks.

If the XLT shaft will fit snuggly up in the etrac upper, you could
just eyeball it to get the coil straight and tighten the lock.
I have a lower carbon fiber for XS and it only has about an inch?
that is square on the end so the point I am making is
a round rod will fit snuggly up in the square rod upper and if you
can find one, it might work ok?
I don't know this to be the case but if it is, I wouldn't worry about
the square part on the end.
There might be a problem though with how to get the coil wire
through the inside of the lower rod.
