Jim, is it hollow? Or at one time hollow? What does it weigh? First thought was sometype of cannon ball. Don't know. Nice finds though

Geesh....don't do anything with it and have it looked at by an explosives expert. Recently a guy was killed by a civil war cannon ball that he found that still had explosives in it. He was chipping away at the rust on the cannon ball and it blew him to smithereens. That grenade can kill you if not careful. It may have been a dud but it still has the potential to kill.

If you find anything like that, be very careful and call the police.

Some more Info: Hollow ( nothing in it)
4.75 " round
Wieght 10lbs.
Location; French late 1600s to Early 1700s.

Its been in a eletrolysis tank doing pretty good .I have another plus a sold shot and a couple of muskets, one complete and one just the flint mek:
