I can make out "The Atlas La*el Prot*................"
I assume the 3rd word is LABEL and the 4th is PROTECTS.
And as I am typing this I decided the last word begins with Y, and assume it is YOU. So going back to google I search "The Atlas Label Protects You" and easily figure out what it is.......
Its a tape measure. I guess I don't need an ID now but since I am this far along I'll post it for future ID'ing of similar finds. I would like to know how old this could be if anyone knows.
Website with an example of one in mint condition.

Your link provides the patent dates 7-10-1917, and if you serch ..Parisian Novelty Co. Chicago Pat. 7-10-17 you will see other tapes with different ads.

I did find a 1919 Wheat cent in the same area. I bet these tape measures were made for quite awhile though. Most patents dates are much earlier than the manufacture date. Thanks for pointing out those dates, Taz!
