I posted some coins I found Sunday ( 2/22/10 Old stuff still hidin') - one item I found on the same day looks like it might be a heel plate. I have pictured it next to a quarter for size comparison.
I'm looking to the experts : is it a heel plate? military ? vintage ?
It seems to be made of brass and has a type of serration or raised edging which is worn off on one side (see photo)
Opinions ?
