Hey Guys..

Cast brass period depth..I cleaned the two holes in the bottom out (nice ding I know) Notice how one side is wider than the other.
??
Thanks in advance,
Brad

The holes don't go all the way through...So I don't think it's been nailed..I do think it may be part of a saddle b/c of the wear to one side...

Anybody?

Don't recognize it Brad, but it's possible it was used as a reins guide. David

That appears to be a saddle cinch. Where the belly strap goes under the horse's belly and is passed through the loop on the opposite side where it can be pulled tight. The flat end is where it fastens to a saddle strap. Jim
