Found this on our farm in the Shenandoah Valley. It was about 15" deep, found with a Nautilus IIB. Thanks for your help.
 
Sorry--it's three inches by two inches.
 
What a beautiful relic. Looks like a brooch, and yes, I believe it would have had stones set in the middle of the flowers, as it does have the claw hands. I haven't really looked into this forum before, now I'm glad I did!
