How do you set the Explorer for hunting sand volleyball courts?I've tried all sorts of different settings and still have a very loud feedback noise. Is it possible to hunt sand with with the same threshold sound as when on dirt?Any info would be appreciated. Thanks,Kenny Ray

Hello Kenny,
Are you in Manual or Auto. I would feel that using Auto would be best for the sand area if your machine is falsing or making too much noise. If it still contuines to run unstable. Reduce the auto until the unit smooths out.

what do you mean by feedback? could be too loud of a threshold or you could just be in an area with lots of electrical interference.. gott know more what your talking about.. it should run as smooth or smoother in sand than dirt

Hi Ken, Tighten cable conectors with pliers. Back off SENS until quiet. Switch to auto Sens. Place coil over noise and noise cancel. I hit a playground filled with sand and the same thing happened to me. It sounded like the whole area was aluminum cans. I think the sand must contain black sand, iron particles. High Sens just amplifies the noise. You still get good depth,6 or 7 inches,on lower Sens.

cable connectors. Hand tighten only. You can damage them by ovaling or stripping them. Sorry to disagree but pliers can do damage and the knurled nuts on these connectors are meant only for hand tightening.

... glad you cared enough to say it. Will probably save someone problems in the future.
