I have the 5x10 18.75 coil and going to hunt a park, their is a lot of nails and trash.I was wanting to know if the 9 in 7.5 or the 5x10 for the park,I have played with both coils and never been to the park with trash,I want to find old coins,I hunt all metal no disc.

I know that a small coil will work best for trash, but I have a dfx and the 3KHZ is for silver and 15 is for gold.I guess my question is the x-terra different. The book says that the 18.75 is for shallow targets.so I guess we dont have the right coils for the job we want to do.

from the DD.

You know my choice in coils. You also know I hunt in AM.
Maybe this would help just a tad. When I hunt a real trashy site I knock out the first 2 or 3 low iron digits to quiet the machine and then work a little slower.
So I guess you could say I hunt in AM almost all the time.

I was sick of work and took the day off to hunt.It is suppost to rain all weekend, anyway I took the 70 out to some parks today with the 9"7.5 that I have hunted to death and found 1 keeper a 1937 wheat at about 7" didnt give a good reading but give a high pitch,so I dug it.Im still learning and also waiting on my coil!!!!!!!

With the 18.75khz eliptical DD coil I have had no problem with depth even though it says shallow targets in the manual. You ask a thousand people the same question you will get a thousand different answers the best way is to find out for yourself.
Cheers!

I`ll test it on my soil and if I cant find a deep coin Ill test it on nails they are at every home sight,as you didn't know that. HA, HA

When air testing the 18.75DD against the 9" 7.5 Concentric, the depth was about the same. I would think with the straight line pattern vs. cone pattern, you could probably crank the sensitivity up a bit.

I haven't used my DD yet, but plan to soon, so my thoughts are just theory, not fact

my god, your searching for coils. 7.5 vs. 18.blah blah blah . come on. get the DD 7.5 10.5" and have a good time great separation and depth. 18.75 HEAD WEST to the hills of gold.

When using any of the coils on the X-terra 70 fit a signal booster to your detector ,run zero threshold and crank up your sensitivity to the max.Be prepared to dig deep targets!
Peter.
