This came from where a house was in the 1920's and 30's. The ground was so hard I busted it. There are more pieces in the ground but decided to wait for a rain. The red piece looks and feels like a marble but was seated inside the metal piece, there was another marble piece but I busted it. I have no idea, anybody know what this is? Thanks Randy

I wonder if it was one of those magic.. now you see it now you don't thingy's

Here's what you might have, only in red instead of clear.

Dave,
I think that is it, man you guys on the whazit forum are amazing. Thanks guys for the help. Man I wish I hadn't busted it. Thanks and HH -- Randy

Yes the marble does reflect when you shine a light on it. When you take the marble out there is a shiny silver coating on the inside of the metal cup that holds the marble. They even made stop signs, where the word stop was made of these marble containers.

I have also seen these used on reflectors for farm equipment, and also highway vehicles...I dug up a ton of these at a site in the country near me once...I think they were on a reflector on a bulldozer that was used to level the property...

HH,
