Maker's mark on the back says "Lewis & Tomes Extra Rich". Button diameter is about 7/8". Can anyone help identify when this was made and what branch of military it pertains to?

It looks like a Militia button - GI 56 in Albert's button book. As flinthunter said, made between 1820 and 1832. Great find! Best of luck and...
