Need Help With Settings & Coil size for Mexico Trip

New member
Once again I am eagerly waiting for my vacations to Mexico which begin this Saturday. I have an area my dad and I have been working that has been very productive (See my previous post from last years vacation finds) finding Silver Cobbs, Reales, Hacienda Tokens and Mexico State coppers ranging from Late 1600-mid 1800's. I use the 17" coil because it is open cow grazing flat area and crop fields and there is virtually no trash, I run GH open program which I understand better that the other programs. I currently use RECOVERY DEEP:OFF RECOVERY FAST:OFF and use the GROUND COIN system SALT WATER:OFF.
SHOULD I CHANGE THESE SETTINGS TO INCREASE MY FINDS?
I ALSO AM TAKING THE 6" AND 11" IN MY ARSENAL, SHOULD I USE THE 6" OR 11" IN THESE FIELDS?

When I get back I will post a recap of my finds.

Wow sounds like you have it dialed in already. I wouldn't tweak it any more. Keep the seventeen incher for max coverage. Doesn't get better than trash free! Good luck down there.

Twangator,
Unless the soil is highly mineralized, you should switch from Ground-Coin to Low-Trash since you stated there was virtually no trash. Ground-Coin requires a slower sweep speed.
Best of Luck!
