Need help with possible value of lead dice

dreed

New member
Found 1 lone dice about 9 inches deep.It is a half inch wide and high and made of lead. From what I have been able to determine it is possible civil war era. can anyone shed any light on this like narrow down a specific time frame. Does it have any historic or monetary value? Any info would be appreciated.

Nice die.
These dice are they used to do with a musket ball, take the weight of this die and compare it with the weight of the ammunition, can provide some information. The history of the place of finding may also help ...

This die weighs 30.49 grams. I have read that some were made from musket balls and some from wood. This one was found in a area that the troops used to pass through along the river in the northern Iowa town I live in according to the local history.

Based on the weight of the lead (if I converted grams to grains correctly) it appears that it could have been made from a 69 caliber musket ball.
