I took the batttery out of my ATpro about a year ago and let it sit idle. I bought some fresh alkalines yesterday, installed them, and oh! oh! problems.
The detector comes on but thats it. it dosent detect anything. I disconnected the coil, reconnected it and nothing. any one has a suggestion/or mybe Garretts customer service number, in case I have to send it back to them. I'm going to try another coil, but I know of no reason for that coil too no longer work!
I am recovering from a mild stroke so maybe I am forgetting something that would otherwise be obvious.

Sorry to hear about your stroke Roy...I hope you find some comfort as you recover...anyway,

I guess try taking the batts back out and make sure they are all in the holder in the right direction? Plus, that little coil plug is a real bear to get lined up just right, a fellow has to push, wiggle and tighten, push, wiggle and tighten, until it does push or wiggle or tighten anymore...its the Oring and those tiny pins, a guy thinks he has it right, but he doesnt! ...do you have a young person around with good eyesight to assist?

If it worked when you put it away, it has to be something simple...

Have you looked to see if the batteries are in correctly?

Garrett's number: 800-527-4011
No doubt they will help you in a timely fashion.

The first thing that came to my mind was the connector. It can be a little tough to get that baby to seat.

I have it going. I had 1 battery in backwards
Thanks everyone for the speedy replies

If u have a problem that isn't batteries or a connection problem u can reboot it by holding the on button down for 10 seconds (that will restore it to factory settings).

glad to hear you have the ATP back up and running. Best of luck in the field.
