Need Help with ID'ing Button

Hello Richard,
the crown on your button is known as a "Queen's Crown", used during the reign of Queen Victoria of Britain (1837-1901). The two-peice style of the button with the crown was used on military and police uniforms during that time in Britain and throughout her colonies. These can usually be dated fairly accurately with the manufacturer's backmark.

At the link below, is a button very similar to yours found in England. Unfortunately it is one of the few that has not been id'ed on the page. Count down from the top to the 37 row (there-abouts), 1st button on the left.
