Need help with Buttons

I found the anchor button in a field next to an old farm house .the eagle button found next to a cellar-hole in W. Mass.I couldn't find ether one in the Albert's button book . The eagle button looks similar to the 1812 GI63BV button . But the wings are higher on the one I found . The eagle is facing left with the wheat branch is on the left. The eagle is on a cross-section field with a raised border. there is a raised shield on the eagles chest with a letter in the middle of it, but I can't make it out. Both bottons are 2 piece. Hope one of you might know what they are.
Thanks for looking

Hey Dennis, have you compared GI-80? The feathers on 80 seem closer to a D. Evans product than the usual, finer feathers seen more often. But the eagle fills out the button face a bit more, like yours, which indicates a later production than the GI-63.

Just some thoughts to pnder. My jury's still out. What's your bm? You mentioned two piece as soon as I wondered. It does have a three piece appearance. Tinback or brass back?

Richard

Richard , I can't make out the Button Manufacturer . I think if I used a brass brush on it I would be left with no detail at all. The back of the button seems to be brass . Do you know anything about the anchor button that I posted ?
Thanks for you help
Dennis

The 80's wings are higher then the head .Also the eagle button I have is on a cross-section field with a raised border.

You be the judge of the button's stability, Dennis. I would hate to recommend a means to clean the button back, etc just to have it crumble on you.

I've used a toothbrush and soapy water or the peroxide method.

The bm would tell us a lot but I like it complete as opposed to many pieces as I'm sure you do too!

On the Navy, I've never seen one like it. Can't help much there. Bm on that one?

Wish I could help more.

Richard

No BM on the Navy earthier . It's all corroded on the back ( I don't think the back is brass). guess its form the wonderful New England soil. I did have the Eagle button soaking in peroxide for two days just to get it to were it is . I might try a Brass brush on the back . I just don't want to brake the loop of it.
Thank for your help

Hey cool! I can see this one a bit better. Glasses need defogging or something.

David's right. I agree, with the wings up like this, early militia.

Keep us posted on how the bm comes out. Like to see who made this one.
