I just finished restoring the park rangers clock at the local state park. I must have pleased him because he agreed to let me hunt the beach area at the swimming lake. The problem is I have never hunted in sand or at a beach at all with the Exp 2. I have never found any gold rings either. Do I need to dig all targets to make sure I dont miss the rings, as they do register the same as pull tabs. Any help would be appreciated.

Need Help with beach hunting

If I were you... I'd dig ALL targets. If this Ranger is letting you hunt on a beach that you had to ask permission to do so, You should take advantage of the opportunity not only to pull up some nice keepers but also bag ALL of the pulltabs, bottlecaps and other trash you happen to run into and stuff it in your apron. And when you go to empty your "trash finds", make sure you empty it INFRONT OF HIM.
This way not only will he let you hunt there again, but it will show that Treasure Hunters are good for the enviorment ! Also if you happen to spot or I should say "WHEN" you spot another site you may want to hunt in, He probably wont have any objections.
Keep us posted on what you find!!
PS HUNT IN IM 16 AND DIG EVERYTHING !

I agree with the Iron Mask at -16, but nails will drive you nuts if you do not use FERROUS mode on the beaches that I hunt. Nails are by far the greatest amount of junk targets.
