Need help with a ID Edge question.

Pushing the Mode button rotates between and an ALL Metal or Factory Preset mode.
When I am in the Factory Preset Mode I can push the FP button and select different modes.
Lets just talk about the preset Old Coin Mode. When I am in the Old Coin Mode I notice that the DISC didn't change from what it was before. For example .. if the DISC was set at 0 and I enter the Old Coin Mode, the DISC doesn't change.
Is this the way it is suppose to work? I thought in the Old Coin mode the target ID range accepted were +5 to +12 and +16 to +36.

I just recently got an ID-EDGE and have used it for about ten hours. From what I've seen, the LCD
"dial" for the discriminate setting shows what you've dialed in for the "cP" ( customer preference)
mode. I've never seen it change when I've switched through the different factory preset modes. I
did verify that when the jewelry mode is selected that pennies, dimes, and quarters do not respond
with a tone while gold rings and brass items did. I keep the disc setting at +5 which tells me that the
detector was not using the setting that was shown, but was using the 0 to +18 range. I also noticed
that on page 9 of the manual where they show the different settings, that the disc dial is the same
in all of the pictures.

That is whats going on in the different modes on the edge as you select the mode i .e. new coin old coin ect. it will use the factory setting for that mode the c.p. you set what you want it to dis. out like say iron and pull tabs by setting the dis at 00 you get out the Iron and then press and select pulltab and you elem. the iron and pulltabs i've had my edge for about three years now and its a great machine that can keep up with alot of pricer machines out there as i have found things while wading that alot of others have missed i.e. very small gold rings, chains ect. good luck and keep the coil to the ground
