Need Help to ID button

I found this button this past weekend can anyone help ID it. It has 13 six pointed stars around it and an object in the center that looks like a hornets nest to me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Haven't found it yet in Albert's book,but North Carolina used the Hornets nest on one of their button's,NC 18,but it is different from yours and has no stars.
 
One piece button with shank. It is civilian and appears to have been silver plated (gilted). May possibly have patriotic implications to the original 13 colonies. Good hunting, David@Dixie
