Need help to I.D. a bus token...................

Kelley (Texas)

New member
I found this token at an old gas station that will soon be torn down to make way for a retail strip center. The front of the token has "Fort Crook Bus Lines" and the back has "Good For One Full Fare." Has anyone ever seen one of these tokens? Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

Fort Crook was founded in 1894 at Bellevue, Nebraska and is now known as Offut Air Force Base. Though re-designated in 1946 as Offut Air Field, Fort Crook Bus Lines was still in existence at least up through 1951, as the company was still buying buses from General Motors.

Slightly different with a a bus stamped into the center. Dated by the seller as 1945. Also included, a pic of a bus in use at the time.

I suspect your token was lost by the guy in the hat in the third seat back, sitting with his elbow out the window.

but I can not find one exactly like this one. I wonder why the bus imprint is not in the center of this token. Also, wonder how it got to South Texas. Kelley (Texas) :)
